Daily Meditation 1,008–12/8/2024

(As I always mention at the start of any DM where my religion is mentioned, the DMs are for everyone and are not inherently religious. They are philosophical and totally open to interpretation.)

At my our church, we are very blessed. Despite living in a very small community, we still have a sizeable congregation — and perhaps even more important, we have a considerable gaggle of children.

Every other Sunday, an older, retired teacher holds a “children’s sermon.” This woman is very loved in our church and community — she readily gives probably 10–20 hours per week back.

These “sermons” usually attract up to 20 children to the front. She will incorporate song, the Bible, stuffed animals, prayer, musical instruments, and a lot of questions to be answered. I’m always impressed at how smart and precocious these kiddos are!

Anyway, today she was teaching about sharing.

To start that, she posted an inquiry to the children — What should we always share?

“Our toys”
“Pizza”
“Jesus loves you”
“Markers”

These were a handful of the replies.
