You Don’t Always Get (to do) What You Want
Daily Meditation — 4/20/2022
Your friend has contacted you. It’s been months…
Maybe years.
You tell them a fib to string them along or a lie to get them out of your hair.
Eventually, they stop asking, and that once vibrant limb of your life withers and officially dies off.
Relationships of all sorts are a great game of sacrifice tug-of-war.
Like any important investment or sacrifice, you cannot think of just yourself and of the immediate short term.
You will need to spend your time, your life, and your resources sometimes to nurture relationships of all kinds.
So, call your parents.
Stop when you see a friend or acquaintance at the store to chat for 10 minutes.
Take the few hours to watch the show your spouse is engrossed in (and that you despise)…
These are some of the most important investments you can make.
After all , even if you are a perfect Eudaimonic in every way — outstanding health, incredibly wealthy, and spiritually sound — all of it means little if you are alone in life…and it will make life harder.
