You are their enemy

Daily Meditation 835–6/13/2024

A short one today.

You will be the “enemy” of many, many people in your lifetime. You may never even meet some of these people. They’ll see your profile on X or FeceBook or Instagram and see your MAGA hat or your rainbow flag or your flavor-of-the-month profile picture and think “LOL what a chud. What a brainwashed idiot. They are my enemy.”

Sure, most of us don’t look at someone else and literally believe they’re our enemy. That’s fair. But, we perceive these “opposite” people as enemies or foes.

They know nothing about you, but think of you this way. Here’s the thing though: You’re doing the same thing to them and others.

We constantly, tribally are misperceiving others as enemies based on miniscule facets of their lives which are presented in subtle ways. Those MAGA hats. Those rainbow flags. Those Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, or Taiwan flags. Those nose rings, American flag shirts, or haircuts.

We’re making snap judgements and placing them in “my team” or “the enemy team.”

Cut it out.
