“Clean your room.”
“You don’t need a cookie or Hershey Kiss. Let me get you an apple.”
“You need to get to bed at a responsible hour.”
“You need to get up from bed at the same time every day.”
“Let’s get you off the couch and go outside!”

These 5 articles are really just the teaspoon in the lake of things we teach (or drill into) our children. It’s done in an attempt to help them become well rounded, smart, responsible, and healthy.

And yet, and yet…

We leave our dirty clothes on the unvacuumed floor.
We eschew (there’s a fun word) the banana, orange, or apple and have another Chips Ahoy with our coffee.
We stay up until 1, scrolling, one night, 11:30 another, and then 11 the next.
We sleep in as late as we possibly can before scrambling out of bed for work, and sleep in until 10am on the weekend.
It’s a sunshiny day and we opt to play League of Legends until bedtime anyway.

Ya gotta practice what ya preach, brother!
