Daily Meditation 990–11/16/2024

Written on the road! Pardon my brevity!

All good things are worth doing.

Or, a more familiar motto, “Anything worth doing is worth doing right.” And doesn’t it feel correct, if nothing except directionally?

Brushing your teeth “Just quick before I go” — may as well “just” brush them.
Going for a quick walk after lunch — may as well go the full duration.
Hanging a picture — may as well ensure it’s mounted correctly.

In YouDaimonia — my written pursuit of eudaimonia — I’ve broken things down into the Four Tenets:

Physical Wellness
Relationship Wellness
Spiritual Wellness
And Financial Wellness

And these Four Tenets cover nearly everything in life worth doing well.

In fact, you can’t just focus on one of these and allow the other 3 to slip, expecting things to be fine. You really must have a good focus on them all!

If you’re in excellent physical condition, have a great spouse and friendships, and are spiritually balanced (whatever that looks like for you), but are on the verge of homelessness, you’ll soon find those other 3 tenets straining.

If you’re filthy rich, have God in your life, and excellent relationships but are grossly obese, well… no matter that wealth, etc., your quality of life will be quite low.

And these Four Tenets are the basis of what we write about daily here in the Daily Meditations.

Anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Your health, your relationships, your spiritual focus, and finances are all worth doing well.
