Winning, Losing
Daily Meditation 978–11/6/2024
Yesterday was a big day for America. The election!
But, it’s an allegory for everyday life and many various events. In many things we do, there will be winners and losers.
Sometimes you’re the pigeon, sometimes you’re the statue, as the expression goes — sometimes you WIN, and sometimes you lose…
And that is okay!
Firstly, there’s always another “fight” ahead for you.
When you win, well, it’s easy.
Easy to get full of yourself.
Firstly — recognize nearly 0 wins in life you do alone. There’s almost always help.
Be humble and show humility when you win.
When you lose?
Well…We tend to mope and whine. We make excuses.
When you lose, you should lose with grace. Avoid complaining and whining, no matter the temptation. But avoid making excuses even more — they only keep the loss alive and burning away at your insides.
Accept the loss.
Then — after the “mourning” period has passed — dissect the loss and glean what you may to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
In closing — win and lose with grace and humility!
