Where are you going…?

We are always hustling around, bustling this place and that. Stuffing laptop and notebook and tablet into our bags, hurrying out the door as we check our watch. Keys jangling as we cram them into our pocket, phone pinched between our teeth, we think to ourselves “I’m gonna be late, I think…”

Whether it’s work, going to the store, getting coffee with a friend or anything else, we’re always hurrying off to these events.

Here’s the real question:

Are you really going anywhere WORTH hustling off to?

Probably not.

Even if you work in the care of the elderly or children, we treat everything as urgent, as important.

When everything is urgent, nothing is urgent.
When everything is important, nothing is important.

It pays to sometimes (often?) step back in life and ask yourself if you’re actually going anywhere worthwhile.

Yeah, you need to go to work. Yes, you should go on dates. Of course you should visit the library, be on committees and councils, and be volunteering…

But stop and think “Is this ‘destination’ actually worth it?”

In closing — just be aware, periodically, of your hustle and bustle and be willing to consider some things and places and activities are not serving your or your goals.
