Whatever You Do
Daily Meditation #412–4/13/2023
You have many gifts.
Chess. Writing. Singing. Excel. Running. Public speaking. Mathematics. Foreign language. Graphic design. Kissing. Drawing. Darts.
The list could be quite long, and I invite you to sit down and write out what you’re good at.
But there are many things in life you’ve yet to do or try.
Some of them will require humbleness and an ability to fail.
The short-and-sweet focus, today is this:
Whatever it is — your new job, parachuting, rock climbing, diet and exercise — take it seriously and do your best.
This is more than a platitude.
It is a calling you out that you (and I) approach many things sheepishly and with trepidation.
Approach the new thing with open-mindedness, humbleness, and an attitude free of the words “I know.”
Do this new thing as best you can and learn from the mistakes.
Make it into one of those things on your “I’m Good At” list.
