Daily Meditation #419–4/20/2023

The definition of “vow” is to “pledge, declare, or assert” or to “promise solemnly.”

And yet, today, we live in the most dishonorable society in modern history.

Look at the 50%+ divorce rates.
Record amounts of lying and corrupt politicians.
Education systems that support going around parents to achieve various ends.

Unfortunately, we live in a society that has abdicated its vows.

We make many vows in our lives.

Some a small.
Losing some weight to fit into a dress.
Making breakfast for our children every day.
Showing up at work on time.

Some are gigantic and more formal.
Promising certain things to people voting for you.
The training of future generations.
You literal wedding vows — “In sickness and health, for richer and poorer” there is no one else.

Take them seriously!

Act in a manner consistent with these vows you make.
