Daily Meditation #100–6/2/2022
You don’t show your virtuousness by wearing it.
You don’t show it by the content you share.
You aren’t virtuous because of the hashtags you use.
It isn’t about a public display.
It’s not something deliberate.
Being virtuous is a way of life. Acting in a manner so that you can tell the truth about how you act.
The Bible puts it aptly in Matthew: “And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.”
You show virtue in how you act.
Not your profile pictures.
Not your hashtags.
Not your clothes or flags or bumper stickers.
Virtue cannot be bought or traded. Only earned in action.
Lead a virtuous life, simply be good, work hard, and enjoy the ride.
