A short DM for today.

Tell the truth.

So many of us fib, lie, tell “white lies” and polish the turds of partial truths. But here’s the thing:

Living with lies utterly rots you from within.

Imagine you live in a large, square, 2–story old saltbox home. The roof is brand new. The electrical is totally updated. The plumbing is all PEX just installed. You’ve got a brand new furnace and water heater, beautiful appliances and the whole interior is fully flipped and updated.

Right up the middle of the house is the original, exposed brick chimney. Around where the chimney exits the home’s roof, there’s a noticeable 1" gap — it’s pretty bad…and there’s no cap on the top. All that and the basement is 1800s fieldstone — all coming apart…

When it rains or snows, the water pours down the chimney, filling the walls and ceilings with fresh moisture. The basement foundation weeps on all four walls and covers the floor with that rain and snow…

Your home is immaculate and gorgeous — the envy of your neighbors! But, the rot from that water intruding has destroyed the foundation underneath, making it fragile and has filled the walls with sour mold.
