Trust Me…
Daily Meditation 725–2/21/2024
Something I’ve said here a handful of times:
You’ve got no choice but to trust.
If it’s someone “in” your life, you have no choice but trust. A stranger? Sure, you probably shouldn’t immediately and fully trust them. But a friend? A cousin? A spouse? You’ve got no choice except trust as a good relationship is built on it.
A relationship founded on mistrust cannot last. Period.
Let’s use an example.
Say when you were in your early 20s you dated a really attractive person. They were pretty much everything you desired…but also a top-tier “piece of meat” to others, too!
Everywhere you went, your partner drew eyes and drool (hopefully not literal drool), and with it a simmering sense of jealousy or anxiety.
“What if they leave me? What if they cheat?” these little Luciferian “What ifs” burrowing into you more and more over the years…
The two of you would make love, and you’d often ask yourself how on Earth you landed someone so flawless…
And then your mind would flood with thoughts of them cheating.
But they would reassure, reassure — “Honey, I’m not gonna cheat! I promise.”
