Daily Meditation 844–6/22/2024

Everyone talks about the masterpieces. But the remaining “un” masterpieces all also have many fans.

(Track 10 off of “They Can’t All Be Zingers” was a great song, btw!)

You’re not always going to be motivated or inspired. Such things ebb and flow as a river does through the seasons.

Some days (or weeks+) we will feel incredibly energized, creatively, and go buck wild with our personal arts. Hell, in 2012, I had four months of creative energy and wrote an entire high fantasy NOVEL start to finish, 100,000+ words. I got up at 330am daily to work on it before heading to my job. It flowed effortlessly forth. (Publishing this novel here, by the way)

But, sometimes we just can’t get the juice flowing. Let me tell you — after writing that novel, I couldn’t write a damned thing for nearly a year.

For our creative endeavors, here’s the secret:

It isn’t WAITING on motivation or inspiration… It’s consistency that’s the key.

When these Daily Meditations began (not to talk about myself again), they were fairly hard to get “inspired.” I told myself “Let’s do an experiment — write one daily for a month.”

The first week was grueling.
Week two was tough.
Three was not bad.
