Pretty sure this is a kestrel, but they sound pretty much the same, so, use your imagination okay

Most of us cannot probably recognize the screech of a falcon. And even so, we are very likely to simply ignore it. Not so for a rabbit, dove, or a squirrel.

A scurry of squirrels (really, that’s what a bunch o’ squirrels are called) could be gathered loosely together, enjoying a scattering of scrumptious seeds all across a yard from an upended birdfeeder…
But where our fine, furry friends hear that falcon cry, they burst into action, scrambling up the nearest tree where they, themselves, will communicate out “Bird of prey! Bird of prey!” in their own tongues with a barking and “scree” sound.

They know deep down what they need to do. What is right to do. One of the smaller, less dominant males could choose to stay grounded and to take advantage of the feast while the others hide…But at what risk?

We aren’t generally faced with the same life or death scenarios in the literal sense. A giant giga-bird isn’t about to carry off a 200 pound man to tear apart and feed to some fledglings.

However, there are many instances in our lives where we face moral or ethical “life or death.” In these situations, like the squirrel, we make either a right or wrong decision. However, unlike that squirrel, making the wrong choice won’t get us turned into meat-confetti and…
