We’ve all see impressive specimens of human beings. I mean the fellows and gals who seem to dedicate their entire life to the gym and their diets, min-maxing every single detail to be just a bit more ripped.
We should certainly aspire to fitness. After all, it is one of our Four Core Tenets in YouDaimonia…
But for 99% of us, the levels of dedication they have is, frankly, absurd.
But we aren’t here to talk about the fine details of fitness, but rather an abstract idea.
How does muscle grow? It grows from being damaged.
We are not so different from our quads or pecs or biceps. Though these muscles receive “micro” tears when we squat, bench press, or curl, we as humans also are “torn” by various things which happen in our lives.
We spend our childhood in and out of hospitals, sick.
We’re molested by a trusted family member.
We lose our important job.
Our spouse of decades has been cheating the entire marriage.
We oftentimes refer to these moments as “traumas,” and they probably (fairly) are. Hell, being raped or molested would certainly be traumatic. And this is not to argue that these experiences are bad — I’ve…
