Silence Without, Peace Within
Daily Meditation 854–7/2/2024
Although this DM could most likely apply to online “life” and interactions (which online is not really real life, so we agree!), it’s more intended for life itself.
There are many (many) people out in the world who will be diametrically opposed to us.
Atheists towards Christians.
Democrats towards Republicans.
Chevy owners towards Ford owners.
And so on.
And while some of these may feel cheesy and all of them are reversible and still true, we tend to be reactive when mouthed off to.
When someone very different than us accosts us, our usual reply will vomit forth in some counter or punch back
“Well at least I don’t pray to a fairy tale, sky-daddy!”
“At least my guy isn’t a Cheeto!”
“At least my car’s acronym isn’t ‘Flip Over Read Directions!’”
And then we fume all day. They threw their gasoline all over us and our smarmy reply was the scorching match which lit it. They have won.
While sometimes we may certainly get a real zinger off, generally we both look like angry idiots who will soon be viral sensations on TikTok.
