Daily Meditation 726–2/23/2024

Now that you’ve got that great 1999 Vertical Horizon jam in your head…

We tend to focus on that which we want at the expense of everything we have, when, very often is the case we’ve already got everything we could ever want — and that’s in the perception.

The multi-billionaire wants to go to space.
The billionaire wants the multi-billionaire’s private Leer jet.
The multi-millionaire wants the billionaire’s collection of extremely rare cars and homes all over the globe.
The millionaire just wants one of the multi-millionaire’s Lamborghinis.
The multi-hundredthousandaire wants one of the millionaire’s custom G-Wagons.
The hundredthousandaire wants just the multi-hundredthousandaire’s nice Mercedes.
The middle-class guy wants the hundredthousandaire’s Tesla.
The lower-middle-class guy wants the middle-class guy’s 2013 Dodge Challenger.
The lower class guy wants lower-middle-class guy’s plain ol’ regular, working car.
The homeless guy — when not worrying about food, rainless shelter, or drink or drugs — wants just a car so he can get a job.
The person with no functioning legs at all only wants the homeless guy’s functioning legs.
