See Something, Say…
Daily Meditation 922–9/9/2024
A short meditation for you today.
Today, I think I witnessed child trafficking. I will not tell the story, here, as — well — I went to the police.
Long and short, I saw something exceptionally suspicious happen with adults and children in public which made me immediately and viscerally uncomfortable (and my wife as well). Having a good memory and attention to details, we went to a police station right after to report it. The LEOs were grateful and opened an investigation.
Here’s the DM for today:
If you see something which even a little trips your “sensors,” whether at work, in life, in church, wherever…
Say something!
Tying in with yesterday’s Meditation (ironically), when we choose to look the other way or take the default position of “I’m sure it’s just nothing,” well…when we lay our heads down at night, we are filled with the uncertainty of did we do the right thing.
So it’s simple — it’s easier to ask forgiveness and be wrong than to ignore something and, far worse, someone else get hurt (especially a child).
In closing, a very clean message — whether it’s a creep at work stalking, or someone making you uncomfortable, or even just a guy who’s jogged 10 laps around your house while you smoke on the porch — just tell someone. Maybe you’re right, you’re even probably wrong…but if something is “off,” then you’re responsible to say something!
