Daily Meditation 887–8/4/2024

A short meditation for today.

We all have passions in life.

Painting.
Writing.
Drawing.
Design.
Weightlifting.
Studying authoritarianism.
Cooking.

We can enjoy our jobs — cashiering, fixing cars, or managing data — but it isn’t usually a passion. Finding a career for which we have true passion is exceedingly rare.

But, our passions we must dabble in daily. It’s a major component of me writing these meditations every day the last 887 days in a row.

I love writing.
I love thinking on things in new ways.
I love philosophy.
I love trying to improve myself.

The nexus of all these little passions has blossomed into these Daily Meditations in YouDaimonia as I pursue, well, Eudaimonia!

They bring little money or attention or “fame,” but that’s not what they’re about.
They’re about executing on my passions every day.

And so, too, must you execute your painting or drawing or designing or running or cooking. Every day.
