Other People’s Lives

Daily Meditation #373–3/4/2023

Isn’t it interesting how much we insist we know what’s best for others?

We even vote in a manner that would make those in power impose restrictions onto how others live their lives. And all parties are “guilty” of it.

Most of us can hardly get up when our alarms go off at the time we determined.
We can barely manage our caloric intake and movement to maintain a healthy weight.
We can’t control ourselves, watching thousands of hours of TV a year.

So many of us are utterly MISERABLE and out of control.
Yet we think we know how others should live.

Just leave others alone.

Some will make decisions in their lives which you disagree with, sure.
But, you don’t have to live with them.
You don’t need to date or marry them.
You don’t even need to be friends with them.

So just shrug and ignore them!

Focus on the improvement of your own life, asking “Does this behavior actually bring me joy?” Seek control over yourself.

As for others?
If they aren’t hurting anyone or taking anything from others, well, let them be.

Follow for daily philosophical meditations.
