Daily Meditation #123 — 6/25/2022

“Ouch that really hurts!”

The past is like a kiln or a forge.

It takes you, everything that has happened to you and applies heat and pressure.

Embarrassing events.
Horrific traumas.
Abuses and violence.
Addictions.

All these amalgams of your past serve only to strengthen you.

But like the sword or the plow or the vessel, you cannot stay in the forge or kiln for too long.

This is the past.
We as humans are addicted to it.

Things our exes did, how we were molested, and the times we were called “faggot” endlessly in school all have a heavy gravity that sucks us in.

We too readily “identify” with these elements of our history, letting them become us instead of letting them go.

Refuse to be the victim that others sought to make you into.

Once forged, a sword doesn’t go back to the forge.

Stay out of your past.
You aren’t going that way.
