Daily Meditation 740–3/8/2024

I try to visit the gym at least 3 times a week. But, the ideal week for me is Monday through Friday for a minimum of an hour where every muscle group is hit twice for the week. Other than that, I get 13,000+ steps daily. Cardio is too intermittent (but working on that!).

All that said, I am far from “jacked” or “ripped.” But, for being 36 and being the strongest I’ve been, lowest blood pressure I’ve ever had, and having higher, healthier testosterone levels…
That’s what matters to me — a good general and masculine fitness.

I’m not a big follower of fitness “influencers,” but occasionally enjoy a Dr. Berg video, Greg Doucette, or Derek (More Plates, More Dates guy).
Well, today, a 60 second video of a young, upstart weightlifter, Sam Sulek, came across my feed and I was unable to get rid of it, so I listened.

In this short video, Sulek is saying how he is essentially in the gym daily. Not verbatim, he says something like “Over the last year, 365 days, I was in the gym at least 300 days. Probably more than that, but that’s a low, conservative guess.” Then he goes on to say he spent probably 1,500 hours working out the last year, but it’s likely higher.

From here he then gently reminds us that there are people bragging about…
