It’ll always be (just) you II
Daily Meditation 1,071–2/10/2025
A slight continuation from yesterday’s article.
I closed it out with a thought:
You AREN’T isolated, but you ARE “alone.”
This is to say that, except for God, no matter what, yeah…we’re alone.
But there’s a big, big difference between being alone and being isolated.
“Isolated” is to say that you’re on an island. Hiking in the absolute middle of BFE. You’re on the ISS orbiting Earth. You’re in a submarine.
You’re on Mars.
“Alone” is to say you’re married, you’ve got kids, friends and family. You’ve got a job full of bosses and acquaintances. You live in and volunteer in a community.
And yet, no matter who may always say they’ll “be there,” it’ll quite possibly be “just” you.
This is intended to be a self-empowering idea, not a nihilistic one. Heck, I even mentioned God, above, and am a devout believer myself. But, even if my wife will always have my back, my parents love me very much, and my boss is an incredible woman, I need to always remember that ultimately, everything falls on me to “get ‘er done.”
In closing — build good relationships with your spouse, friends, family and community. Give without expectation of receiving anything. Be generous with your time, talent, and resources.
But always remember — it’ll be “just” you.
