Sharpen the blade — your old ways are on the chopping block.

Now that you have that 90s hit song from Everclear stuck in your head…

Your new life — one free of addiction, one of discipline, one of health, wealth, mutually beneficial relationships, and spirituality (our Four Tenets) — is going to cost you a high price…

The cost?

Your old life.

And I think many of us are not prepared to say goodbye to our old life. We fail to see the next iteration and cling longingly to a previous one. Think of it like your favorite smartphone. I had an old Samsung S10+ which I adored. The bill was affordable, the features were good, camera was great…until I broke it (by accident) and was forced to upgrade — and the quality of life was doubly better in improvements.

While our life is far less robotic in nature than coding or technology — “On X date, receive Y update” — we have myriad things we can do to make a “new” life for ourselves.

A new life of greater health. Lower weight, better blood pressure, greater sleep.

A new life of improved relationships. Fruitful ones. Ones of giving. Ones that aren’t sapping you (or you them).

A new life of spirituality (however that looks for you). Of prayer, or mindfulness.
