Daily Meditations — 3/29/2022

One of the highest forms of virtue man has lost is that of shame.

We brag about our gluttony.
Boast our ability to overindulge in drink.
Sing from the mountaintops how good we are with charity, donations, and support instead of just doing these things and going about our lives.

Are you Narcissus, stuck clinging to the mirrored pool of empty and devoid compliments from others about all your shameless shortcomings?
No — you are not. You are the pinnacle of all that lives and breathes!

So…

Have some humility! Have some shame!

Look at the ancient sculptures of man and see their form — lean and athletic — and realize you are an undisciplined glutton!
Behold how many bulbous nosed drunks every night like clockwork, surrounding you in the taverns!
How much of your potential have you wasted in your cups every day? How much time in bars? How much wealth in beer?
How much potential have you cast away as if it were slime-coated filth because your lack of shame?

You are not a fool nor a loser, so quit acting like one!

Take care of your body — eat well, drink little, and engage it!

Mind your investments and finances — keep measure, look to the future!

Be conscientious of your relationships — add to them a little every day as you would to a piggy bank!

Live in spirituality — even if you don’t believe in a God, live with overflowing gratitude for that which you have!

Quit squandering everything you have!
