I am still on vacation with my wife and parents in Florida. Due to the seasonality of my career + location of living (Realtor in the Winter’y UP of Michigan!), we generally have to take relatively short trips and over winter when the work season is lulled.

Well, Feb into March isn’t exactly “tropical” in Florida (per se). Although, to a Yooper (slang for someone from the U.P. of Mich), it’s definitely shorts and tank weather! Needless to say, when we eyeballed the forecasts before heading down, it showed a few things:

Rain for our Universal Harry Potter day.
Rain for our shooting range family day.
Rain for our 2 days at Ormond.
Rain for our Kennedy Space Center day.
Rain the day of the SpaceX launch we wanted to see.

Imagine my incredible gratitude when our Universal day magically (pun intended) was beautiful and sunny.

My gratefulness when the beach visit was mostly warm, but slightly overcast. We got to walk the surf and beach for 3 days and only suffered a few minutes of misting rain.

And I felt so grateful when the SpaceX launch was clear…after a full day of actual rain and lightning. The night sky was so crystal, in fact, that my parents — residents of Florida — said it was the best launch they’ve seen. The rain had vanished…
