Daily Meditation #177–8/18/2022
Gratitude Meditations —
I II III IV

We are not separate. We are all entwined deeper than we realize, much as the forest roots are beneath the moss, rime, and dirt.

These meditations are always highly esoteric.

It’s philosophy, after all.

They’re written in a third person.
As questions.
Or exclamations.
Sometimes from a metaphorical pulpit.
Others, from a place of failure myself.

But, they’ve been written daily, like clockwork, for 177 days.

Today, however, is a special day which I, myself, overflow with gratitude.

That is because today we crossed 500 followers.

Compared to some, that is laughable.
Yet, compared to others, it is exponentially high.

I am humbled to misty eyes with the thought that 500 people have found this.
Even if just 1% of them gained anything — motivation, deeper thinking, balance, peace — from that 500, I will go to my grave humbled and pouring forth thanks to God for the gift of reaching so many.

And that’s just 1%.

I am not quitting this journey.
Eudaimonia — or YouDaimonia, as it is stylized here — is a lifelong path.

The “infinite mountain” I sometimes call it.
The “narrow, treacherous way” other times.

Some days I am lightfooted on the trails.
Other days I am clinging on with every fiber of my being to not slide down the mountainside.

But all days I am on this path.

Seeking relationship wellness.
Endeavoring for financial wellness.
Enduring to achieve physical wellness.
Striving for spiritual wellbeing — which for me is with Jesus Christ.

Every day I have written these meditations, I have not only learned how to better write, but also have learned about myself.
About how we think.
About the way we treat one another.
About our behaviors.
About mortality and respecting death.
About how I and we perceive.

About gratitude.

So, although today I am better compared to who I was 177 days ago, know, oh precious readers, I am broken and imperfect in every way.

I am a slave to temptations. To overeating. To passing judgement. To sleeping in. To bouts of anger. To overspending…

But also know I am writing these to share my insights into all of these in hopes that not just I can improve…
But that it reaches even that 1% of you.

So — today I am most gratitude for this opportunity to serve you 500 with these words.
They aren’t perfect — and never will be…
But I will continue.

As we all must.

Thank you,
