This…this is not what I meant.

Writing.
Speaking.
Teaching children.
Landscaping.
Knitting.

We all have myriad gifts we’ve been blessed with!

This topic was the choice of the sermon in church, today. The pastor talked about how we all have so very many wonderful gifts and how we should ensure we go forth into the world making positive use of them to help others.

If you’re gifted at writing, then consider using it to help others stay informed of good news. Or to write a family newsletter. Or to write encouragement.

If you’re gifted at speaking, then maybe you offer to help instruct others on how to speak. Or offer to speak on something you’re experienced with at work or locally.

If you are gifted with helping educate children (and aren’t a school teacher!) see how you can be involved with activities for your local centers or church to help children grow and learn (and help other adults learn your skill!).

If you’re great at landscaping, then maybe once a year you can donate a day or a few hours to helping the elderly with their yards.

If you’re especially wonderful at knitting, maybe it’s teaching others to knit or creating blankets and clothes for homeless shelters or animal shelters with donated wool skeins.

The point is this:

You’re good at something. Probably even great at a couple things.

Use your gift to do good or to help others do good with no expectation of anything in return.
