Don’t Give Up

Daily Meditation #105–6/7/2022

Saying “Eh, I’m done. I quit,” right here won’t work…why should regular life be different?

Each day I fail in some way.

Some days it’s because I didn’t quite get my steps in.
Other days, it’s that I didn’t study as much as I should’ve.
Sometimes, it’s because I ordered a pizza when I know it wasn’t in the budget and didn’t align with my goals…

Each day we fail ourselves…

But what remedies the failure is getting back up.
What fixes it is dusting yourself off, reviewing the flaw, and readjusting the aim.
What makes it okay, again, is to pick back up where you left off.

What isn’t okay is to give up.
To just accept yourself at your status quo, permanently.

A little, incremental improvement each day — even if it’s just getting out of bed one minute earlier — is an improvement, nonetheless.
