Dinner…?

Veganism. Vegetarianism. Pescatarianism. Low fat. Paleo. Atkins. Lion & carnivore. Keto. CICO (Calories In, Calories Out).

I have tried most diets under the sun. And all with different opinions and results for my personal goals, genetics, preferences, and “ease of use.”

In the book YouDaimonia, we talk in more depth about diets, but these are the main keys to a successful diet:

  1. Does it help or hinder your fitness goals?
  2. What are your genetics predisposed to?
  3. What are your dietary (and ancestry) preferences?
  4. How easily can you stick to the diet?

Considering the above, my personal goals are to remain lean(ish), strong, and to maintain high testosterone levels for my age. I only know half the genetic story as I was adopted, but I know men in my family are predisposed to heart issues and “globe” guts with smaller waists. My dietary preferences are for high fats.

As for what I can stick with? Well, keto’s always been the easiest for me. It is easy for me to eat high fats, fast 15+ hours a day, and maintain a healthy weight. The downside (for me, personally) is that weightlifting isn’t as easy on keto.
