Death Meditation I

--

Daily Meditation — 3/24/2022

Wake each morning with death in mind.

Remember and hold it close to your chest each day.
Your mother.
Father.
Dog or cat.
Your children.
Spouse.

Yourself…

Think back to the last time you were really, truly sick.
Illness is a tenuous thread we tightrope walk. A thread between this world and the next.
Did you have a fear of dying?
Were you rasping for breath?
Mind filled with wild and bizarre fever dreams?

You survived, but with even the tiniest of changes you may’ve died, instead.

Remember that.
Wake each morning and remember well — death is always standing right behind us, hands on our shoulders.

You will better cherish and be grateful for life when you appreciate and meditate on death.
