at least they’re not laughing into their salads

A simple Meditation for today:

You have friends and “friends” in your life. The “Friends” are more like…acquaintances. They are perhaps more transactional than a more unconditional friend-friend would be.

And there’s nothing wrong with having a few friends who are a bit more “fair-weather.” It happens as you age and run short on time and energy — after all, we cannot change or control others.

The key is in the awareness of the difference.

The “friends” who are not giving you “equal air,” as I think of it, may need to be choked out like a fire. If you’re giving them lots of air, and they’re not giving it back? Well — it’s time to consider pulling back on it. Like a fire, you’re feeding them, but they’re not feeding you. They’re always welcome to come back at any stage.

It isn’t an invitation to be rude or snippy or aggressive. It’s more one for you to consider if you’re being treated fairly and with the same love you are giving.
