Airports
Daily Meditation #193–9/3/2022
Airports are marvelous and unique places.
A whorling galaxy of cultures, languages, hopes and dreams.
One of my favorite things about airports is the fact that — if you’re paying attention — you get tiny windows into the intimate, inside jokes of others.
For example, yesterday:
I saw a young woman with flowers wearing a Baby Yoda mask.
To everyone outside the joke, it’s just weird…
But, to the significant other, it will be a beautiful, artistic, and romantic flourish they will not forget.
They will remember that tiny touch, specifically, for the rest of their life.
Another:
a large, muscular dude with flowers and a “Spawn” action figure.
I can’t help wondering about all these little inside jokes and feel my “faith in humanity” batteries recharged.
Humans are not fundamentally bad or driven by power and domination.
It is entirely the opposite.
Life is wonderful.
Love is everything.
